Do you think that jobs in IT are safe after 10 year. I do not think that jobs are safe. can you predict the future if we do not have jobs in hand. Because we change our life style accrding to income which we are earning.

I was discussiong with one of my friend, we conclude that Brands are making fool to us. They are selling theier things more than 7 times. Just think a most knowledge person who is software engineer he went to shopping mall and buy a jeans in Rs 2500 which is worth is Rs 200. Do we think that we are Intelligent person. If we do not stop this trend then it is going to very difficult to survive our future life if market crashes or Lay off.

Now a days mostly company are selling dreams and we are buying our dreams by paying the cost 10 times or 20 times. please put your intelligency because you are intelligent.

Please plan now for your future becasue no one can predict what will happen in future. As per current statics average increment will be near about 8-10 % but inflation will be 18-20 %. It means your net income is getting down and down day by day. To sustain the income there are two rules.

1. Increase your income from some other source

2. Decrese your exepense

That is your call what you have to do? I can suggest option 1 is good. You can strat your side by side business which can provide you long term money. Have you read     ” Rich Dad pood dad” Book. That is very good book if you want to grow in life.

A few years ago opting to become a pilot was one of the best career decisions to make as it offered both prestige and money. However, over the few years the lull in the aviation industry at large has caused the entire framework of lucrative jobs to come crashing down. Due to the sudden closure of this Scottish airline most of its crew including the pilots were left stranded across the globe! This incident along with several others has caused a relative fear of joining an airline in any capacity.

The Jet Airways cutbacks that were splashed all over the papers and shown on all news channels across India had created quite a flutter amongst aspiring pilots. Many students who thought of joining ranks with the other successful pilots are now opting to go for an MBA. Considering the cost of becoming a pilot that runs up to a hefty 20 Lakhs or more in India, many are choosing to go for professional courses that offer greater stability than that offered in the world of aviation.

The sudden closures, cutbacks, retrenchments, salary cuts along with no-new-hiring policy have left many in the lurch. There are at least 5000 if not more unemployed pilots in India who are now looking for jobs in cargo, private charter planes and even joining regular offices.

But if analytical reports are to be believed the aviation industry is going to rise once again. Rise and fall are a very natural order of things. The worst time for the Indian aviation industry was in 2008-2009. But the strong support of the government, private entrepreneurs and the rising economy is going to have a very positive impact on the industry this year. It should come as no surprise that the hiring’s for pilots will begin soon and pilots that have been unemployed for some time now will touch the skies once again.

Job Fairs are starting to pick up, and Dice is running some nice ones, called Targeted Job Fairs.  At a Bay Area job fair in January, 10 companies as showing up, and Dice has 82 job fairs scheduled for 2010 across the US.

How do you compete at a Job Fair?  The competition can be significant, but you can help yourself stand out from the crowd with advance preparation.  At AA-Careers, we have a simple six-step process to get ready.  Don’t just go to drop off your non-customized resumes at all the booths!  (If that’s all you plan to do, save some time and gas and stay home.)  Plan to go?  Here’s how to prepare:

First, research the companies that are going and pick your targets.  Research the companies that are there ahead of time.  Go to their websites and see if they have their openings posted.  Pick a reasonable number to target, and get ready to spend up to an hour researching each one.  It’s hard to do more than 10 in a day, and 3-5 is a much more reasonable target.  For each company, you want to know: key product lines, recent news, and executive names.  Try to see if you know anyone at the target companies.  You’ll end up with a page or two of research for each company/job.

Second, if there are job postings on the web, read them to see what the hiring manager is looking for.  Create a mapping of your accomplishments and skills to the requirements of the job.

Third, create a ‘mini sales pitch’ for each likely company/job combination.  Write down a 90 second ‘thumbnail’ that you can repeat verbally describing why you are a great candidate for that position.  You’ll use this in your resume and when you meet people at the job booth.

Fourth, modify your resume for each job type.  The objective on your resume should exactly match the position you’re targeting.  The executive summary should be a written form of your “mini sales pitch” for the job.  Then choose the accomplishments and skills that most clearly match the job requirements.  Especially at a job fair, the purpose of your resume is a sales tool for you – to get you on-site job interviews.

Fifth, dress and prepare as if you’re doing on-site interviews.  Dress well and be well groomed.

Finally, practice your ‘mini-sales-pitch’.  Collect your research and the resume for each position – bring a couple of copies for each – and put each in a clearly labeled folder.  Keep them in a lightweight briefcase or folio.  Remember to smile, and good luck job hunting from all of us at AA-Careers!
