I understand that there are many struggling job seekers in today’s economy. I made this list to share with the job seekers. Of course there are more tips! Believe me there are a ton of articles to read if you are interested. I thought I would sum of the ones I feel are very important based on interactions I had with employers in the efforts to connect with students and graduates with job opportunities. Please enjoy!

Try new strategies! Don’t keep using the same ones that don’t work!

Find ways to make some extra money so you aren’t desperate and panicky!

Create an on-line presence! Use social network sites such as linkedIn (make sure it is professional)!

Never send a resume without a cover letter!

Proofread, Proofread, And Proofread!

Networking is key… 15% of available jobs are posted on job boards)!

Do not a robot! Tailor your resume.

Create personal but professional looking business cards

Protect yourself against negative messages!

Think return on investment! What can you offer the employer!

Get in the game! Be proactive and take charge of your job search!

Be persistent! Follow up with employers. Let them know you are interested!

DO NOT DEPEND ON ONLY ONE SOURCE BE CREATIVE!!
